Must Be My Age... | Fri Oct 21, 2011 12:13 am by qiheitiann | You would think that being retired would give you more time to do ALL the things you have always wanted too!
Luckily, we have been busy with church, the property and traveling to see our children and grandchildren all over the place. We were lucky to see Kristy, James and Rob and our sweet grandchildren in California (where it rained). We spent time at the beach and in the mountains. [url=http://www.shoping-jerseys.com]cheap …

| Missingno, yes, Pokemon Missingno. It was a glitch in Pokemon Red.
A video game character whose existence is due to a Good Bad Bug. Its presence may cause additional Good Bad Bugs or Game Breaking Bugs. May be found in a Minus World and often exists for the same sort of reason — the game tries to load a sprite from a part of the game data meant for something else entirely, and tries to use the bytes it finds anyway.
The Trope Namer is the glitch Pokémon "MISSINGNO." A similarly glitchy creature had a name consisting of a quote mark, the letter M and two unpronounceable symbols. It has been Fan Nicknamed "M-Block." The glitch was actually caused by the game reading your character's name as random encounter data.
Missingno also has the benefit of multiplying the sixth item in your bag to 128 or 255 in quantity. For competitive battling, this is quite the Game Breaker. (Cloned Rare Candies + Cloned Technical Machines + Cloned Master Balls + Cloned Medicine = A team of six in the timeframe it would take to create one Poke without glitching.)
It's worth noting that, despite common belief, Missingno is actually relatively harmless and only causes minor graphical glitches and corrupts the Hall of Fame data (the latter of which isn't required for playing the game anyway—there isn't anything that requires the Hall of Fame entries, and it's entirely possible to play the game without using it).
'M, however, can erase your current file if you leave it in the PC for too long. 'M and Missingno are probably the best-known examples in the series because you can encounter them without modifying the game in any way. With use of a Game Shark and a Walk Through Walls cheat enabled however, it's also possible to run into a number of different glitched pokemon and trainers, many of which can do serious damage to your save file if you're not careful (or just plain unlucky). This LP of Blue version details many of them and their effects.
cool right? like old times' Hacks. | |
